Comcast Sucks!

by mike on February 4, 2007

I’ve had Comcast on and off for a few years and have to say their customer service is horrible. First off, I’ve changed my plan a few times over the last several years, and 100% of the time I’ve had issues. In fact just 2 weeks ago, someone from Comcast preemptively called (a week prior to my promotion ending) and offered to update my plan. That was really nice so I decided to stick it out and updated my plan to better suit our watching habits (and finances). So, as discussed I return one of my extra cable boxes to their branch office. When I got there, the lady behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about. She acknowledged the fact that my plan was going to expire soon and that I should do something about it. Honestly, I flipped out a bit. This “lack of communication” has happened to me multiple times in the past and is completely unacceptable in my book. I always ask for the person’s name and extension, and even with that information I get the “run around.” I’m completely done with Comcast as soon as I can another decent provider in my area.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

When I had Comcast I had problems too and I vowed to never get them again. I simply went without cable TV and since I couldn't get my employee package with DISH Network because I lived on the wrong side of the apartment complex to get signal. Now I moved and I have DISH Network coming to install on Thursday. I had it before for about a year and the picture was always so clear. Now I'm getting HD free for life because DISH is such an innovator in making customers happy. We were the first to have free HD you know? So with Comcast my bill was so high it just wasn't worth it any more. I had slow or not working internet constantly and my TV would go out all the time. They finally installed new cabling from the street to the apartments but it took 6 months and asking all of my neighbors to call Comcast and ask them to fix the cables. The irony is that it was fixed just a few weeks before I moved out of that apartment! Cables need to be upgraded and replaced all the time but Dish signals don't need all of that upkeep other than a re-point sometimes.
