vlogging

What’s vlogging? Essentially, it’s just creating videos and posting them online. Technically speaking a vlog is a video that uses a blog as its distribution medium. With current bandwidth speeds and storage capacities increasing month-by-month coupled with the user-generated content movement, vlogging has grown substantially in the last few years. For god’s sake, this shakeup is all over the Internet. In fact, I read somewhere that Rocketboom makes any estimated $40K per week in advertising revenues. That’s amazing for a crappy show (imho). As usual, the cream will rise to the top. If you produce quality content people will find it.

Want to create a vlog? Here’s a pretty good beginner’s tutorial. Obviously, you’ll need some sort of video recorder and access to a computer.

A step-by-step guide to setting up a videoblog for free

I’m definitely going to give this a try. I have a few ideas on topics and formats, but nothing in stone as of yet – plus I need a recorder. Look for this pretty soon. Any ideas for shows? Want to get involved? Drop me a line.
