Dabbling with Microformats

by mike on April 2, 2006

I’ve been reading up on Microformats and some recent developments in this area. I decided to create a simple hreview for Panera Bread using Microformats.org standard hreview creator (see here) . One thing that I’m still struggling with is the incentive for bloggers to use this format when posting. We are starting to see applications that make this easier (e.g. wordpress plugins), but really what’s in it for me to structure my posts using this format? There is no clear answer to this. Several startups in the aggregation space are dealing with this issue presently. Overall, I believe the real value are the killer apps that will make this information more useful to us in many different ways. Sit tight. Let’s see what comes along.

Here’s my review of Panera Bread in hreview format.

The great thing about Panera Bread is the free . This is a huge benefit to those of us that like to work while eating or having a coffee. Both Barnes & Noble and charge for Internet access. I’ll gladly keep driving an extra 10 minutes out of my way for this perk. By the way, the Menlo Park location is much bigger than Westfield and has a better atmosphere.
